Vehicle(s): 1979 Scout ii

$2,000 1979 International Scout II. I Originally purchased this Scout 25 years ago and built it up as a rock crawler. I sold it to a friend and the motor went out. I got it back to fix up but I’ve lost interest. Motor (345)has been pulled out and either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. One of the pistons is cracked and has no compression. The motor is torn down. It has in it the Dana Designs dual 203/205 transfer case connected to a Torqueflight 727 three speed Transmission. This set up works really well. Long travel driveshafts, front and rear Detroit lockers In Dana 44 axles and five 36” Super Swamper Iroks. Has a lot of tread left. Used to trailer the scout to the trails. Spring over suspension flexes well for a leaf sprung vehicle. Mile Marker hydraulic winch. Full roll cage tied into the frame. Air conditioning compressor was converted to an onboard air compressor and the rear bumper is an air tank. It works really well and I was able to run impact wrenches and fill tires quicker than electric pumps. Vehicle has stock power steering and brakes. rear axle brand new chromoly axle shafts, bearings, brake shoes, seals. Front axle Brand new chromoly outer shafts, u joints, Brake shoes, ball joints, bearings, and seals. I purchased a brand new gas tank and sending unit. Never put gas in it. The bad-it’s a scout and has rust. It is a rock crawler and all of the body panels are dented. When I bought the scout back I turned in the title to DMV and I couldn’t get a new one without smog and they would not non-op it without registration. Thanks Bode (760) 644-1446 located in Cardiff CA
