Scouts West is a group of people who are interested in trucks (4x4 and 2x4) made by International Harvester. Some of these models include the Scout, Scout 80, Scout 800, Scout 800a, Scout 800b, Scout 810, Traveler, Travelall, Travelett, 1010, 1110, 1210, 1310 and the SSII. Some custom models include the Midnight Star, Patriot. If Mopar and IH had gotten together back in the 70 they may have built the SSIIGTX, (a SSII with a 440 cubic inch engine). The types of wheeling we enjoy include, rock crawling, sand dunes and day trips to the local four wheel drive and off road areas.

The 2010 ScoutsWest Beach Party is just around the corner. There will be plenty to do for all ages. Come enjoy the radiant California sunshine on the soft sands of Bolsa Chica State Beach. Remember to bring your International for "Vehicle Appreciation".

Date: July 17th (saturday)

Location: Bolsa Chica State Beach (Warner and PCH)
Lifeguard tower (22)

Food: Hamburgers and Hotdogs

The water is going to be warm so bring bathing suits, surfboards, and boogie boards. There is usually decent surf up until around noon. Parking is $15 and be sure to arrive early as the parking lot does fill up. I would shoot for 8am or 9am. Due to state budgetting there is a chance that there WILL NOT be a lifeguard on duty which means that every parent is responsible for their own children. Food is going to be decided at the meeting but i would bring my own snacks. Within walking distance is a Jack-In-The-Box and a Snack Shack. Definitely bring your own drinks with coolers and ice. As far as bonfires go, please bring some wood to add to the stack. NO PALLETS OR NAILS! It is a large fine. There is a bikepath on the beach if you choose to bring your bikes.
