Scouts West is a group of people who are interested in trucks (4x4 and 2x4) made by International Harvester. Some of these models include the Scout, Scout 80, Scout 800, Scout 800a, Scout 800b, Scout 810, Traveler, Travelall, Travelett, 1010, 1110, 1210, 1310 and the SSII. Some custom models include the Midnight Star, Patriot. If Mopar and IH had gotten together back in the 70 they may have built the SSIIGTX, (a SSII with a 440 cubic inch engine). The types of wheeling we enjoy include, rock crawling, sand dunes and day trips to the local four wheel drive and off road areas.

We enter in another battle to keep Ocotillo from being squeezed of it's open land.
Two environmental groups have filed a lawsuit seeking a court-ordered shutdown of open riding areas at the Ocotillo Wells SVRA. If successful, riders will be restricted to designated trails within the park. Write a letter right now to urge State Parks to fight the lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges off-road vehicle activity at Ocotillo Wells has violated environmental protections mandated under state law. Specifically, the suit describes widespread erosion, damage to desert soils and plant life, and non-protection of the park's 1,200 archeological and historic sites.

Scouts West's Annual Beach Party,
July 20th 2013.
It's the clubs way of saying thanks to it's members and gives a chance for other IH lovers to come meet the family. Every year Scouts West finds the time to make it's way down to Bolsa Chica Beach on a sunny saturday in California. We meet at lifeguard Tower 22 under our big red Ez-Up.
So please make a drive to the beach and meet Scouts West for the first time. Bring your IH vehicle and lets pop the hood for some gloating. For the members and old timers, you know the drill. Be there early for a spot upfront and to claim your shade under the Ez-Ups. This is a pot luck style event so a list will be started in the forum. Please bring some firewood to cook the Smores at night in the fire ring. Don't forget the Beach Cruisers and Arm Floaties!

| Pomona Swap Meet and Classic Car Show Date: Jun 12 Posted by: LibertySand Filed under: Events Read/Post Comments Off Scouts West has been invited to the Pomona Swap Meet and Classic Car Show as their Featured Car Club of the Month! 
On Sunday June 2nd we will be heading to Pomona, Gate15. Everyone should arrive by 6:30 AM to fill in our private spot for the Featured Club of the Month. We invite all club members and even non club IH members to come out and enjoy a great day on the asphalt under our Scouts West Red Tent. We are allowed to bar-b-que (non charcoal) and have some ice chest's. No DOGS and no Bicycles please. The first 25 Club Member Vehicles get free admission. Be sure to have a Scouts West sticker/badge displayed on vehicle.
So bring your comfortable walking shoes, a wagon to haul around your swap meet parts and a camera to take pictures of all the antiques on show.

This Event was a Success! We had almost 20 IH Vehicles show up to help represent Scouts West.
Everyone had a great time shopping at all the vendors, a little bar-b-que under the SW Red Tent, meet and great some new people and a few of us got some sunburns. Hopefully we can be a featured Club again next year. | |
