Saturday turned out to be a pretty nice day with reasonable temps and a lite breeze. What could be called a good day to attend a IH truck show! Had no rain the whole day! I will esimate over 100 trucks of various ages and models. There were only 4 Travelalls. I had the only 'stock', 'C' Travelall. I kept the hood 'up', the other 3 kept their hoods closed. I took some pictures but more of the 'area' images as there was supposed to be a photographer taking pictures to post on the RMIHR webite. Dinner was Elk - steak or shredded, shredded turkey or hot dogs with trimmings. We tried the Elk, a first time for us. The awards and door prizes will be at 4PM on Sunday. Bill

OK everyone, BREATHE for heavens sake! The Truck did take 1st place in stock Travelall class. We picked up a door prize for a free entry to the Sierra Fall Rallye, a roll of 'duct tape', a couple oil jug holders and $50., for the furthest driven to the show. Just about a full tank of gas. Nice. There were 121 entries and 100 vehicles showed up. I'm sure the weather made a big difference in the attendance. The local 4H club provided the breakfast and lunch and collected $600 for their efforts. The weather was overcast with rain almost all day. During the awards ceremony, the rain was so loud on the metal roof, the announcer had to increase the volume on the speakers. I had been looking to meet the owner of the white 68 Travelall that had won it class for the last 5 years, but was told the truck was badly damaged after hitting a bear on the way home from last years event. OK, yes, I will be careful! We will leave Fairplay in the morning for Santa Fe. Appreciate the positive comments from the club members for our participation at the RMIHR show. Bill and Carol Bennett

Glad you took first Bill. You really deserve it, plus the other awards and prizes made it a worthwhile trek. Take it easy on the way home and stop at all the tourust traps. Give them tourists some time to appreciate your Travelall too.

Made it to Santa Fe but the truck is having a fuel supply issue. I think my new fuel line has been cut by the edge of a under fender panel. I can drive from the smaller tank but not from the main tank. Not a fuel pump problem. Will check it tomorrow. Bill
