Have a close friend that lives in Lake Havasu and goes to this everyear, says it's a great event. It's a pretty large turn out of vehicles and the trails are very diffecult if thats what you desire. I know that is also the same weekend that a lot of us head out to Panamint which is also a cool weekend of fun. Are you guys thinking of going to Parker Bill?

I have no idea if anyone from down here will be going. That is one long haul to drive the scout.
Shane Miller from Parker4wheelers sent me and Tim Potter an email about adding this to our calender. I added to the calender and also started this thread for them.
It sounds like a fun event, but like you said, the trails look pretty hard when you go to their website and browse the pictures. Even the names in the flier of the runs have some bite to them . Since it says family fun, maybe there is other trails more stock vehicles can go on? Maybe someone for their group will come in and mention a few things. Bill,
Thank you very much for posting Desert Splash 2010 up on your web site our club appreciates the support.
The trails that we will be leading for Desert Splash will vary from difficult to easy, We understand that there are people that are hardcore and love to hit the hard trails, but there are also the people who would like to put the kids in the back seat and keep the AZ rock rash off the sheet metal (me being one of those people).
There is camping available for those that would like to camp and tons of raffle prizes to be given out.
If you guys have any questions please feel free to contact me. -email-
Bill you guys have an awesome website and forum hope to see some of you guys out at Desert Splash!!!

Welcome to the site Shane,
We will do what we can to get some members out to your event and we always look forward to hitting the trails with other clubs. What can we plan to encounter for weather at that time of year in Parker? I have stayed at La Paz many times over the years just not in November, I imagine it has cooled off a little by then. Look forward to keeping in touch with you guys....

Paul,
The weather has usually been in the mid 80's during the day and low 60's at night. That is much better than the current 110 that is currently at my house! lol Our monsoon season will be over and it rarely rains during that time of the year.
For the people who like to camp out this is where we camp: La Paz County Park in 7350 Riverside Drive, Parker, AZ 85344. It is $60 for Thursday-Saturday nights. There are no hook ups or water at the campgrounds. Our there are hotels in the City of Parker.
For the people that would like a pre-registration form emailed to them will all the prices please email me here -email- and I can forward all the info to them.

What is there locally for those of us that like the full hook up campgrounds? Doesn't La Paz have an area with hook ups or is it usually all booked up already.

La Paz does have full hook ups that you can go to, they usually get filled pretty fast with all the winter visitors that we get in AZ. The prices also may be more expensive for those sites too. The area that we will be in has very limited hook ups and usually fills up by Thursday afternoon. Here is the link to La Paz County Park's web site for more info. LINK
